PE Growth/Expansion
- Naya Group, restaurant chain that serves delicious, wholesome food traditionally, received development capital from Kline Hill Partners, Pacific General, TriSpan and other investors.
Merger/Acquisition
- Imperial, vending machines in Tulsa, Oklahoma that provide products like beverages, snacks etc., was acquired by Arca Continental.
- Malia’s Restaurant, restaurant in Aiken, South Carolina that offers lunch and dinner service and alcoholic beverages, was acquired by Mr. Justin Hayes.
Buyout/LBO
- Philz Coffee, beverage chain that provides handcrafted and customized coffee, was acquired by Freeman Spogli through a $145 million LBO.
- Qdoba Restaurant, chain of Mexican restaurants across North America, rolled its stake in the company into the QDOBA Continuation Fund from Butterfly Single-Asset CV Fund for $527 million.
- Shipley Do-Nuts, donut and coffeehouse chain across the United States, was acquired by Levine Leichtman Capital Partners through an LBO.
Corporate
- Whataburger, fast-food burger chain that offers customizable, made-to-order meals across its regional restaurant network, raised $330 million of debt financing.
Later Stage VC
- Le Botaniste, organic plant-based food and natural wine restaurant that offers a sustainable space for dining, raised $2.49 million of venture funding in the form of convertible debt.
- Melba’s, hospitality and dining establishments for food service and customer experience purposes, raised venture funding from Raptor Group.
Angel
- Luscious Supper Club, curated communal dining experiences for social and culinary engagement, raised $100,000 of angel funding from Erik Swanson
