CPGO Comp II – Castle Placement, CUNY Startups and Amazon

New York, NY – May 3, 2019 – The grand finale of CPGO Comp II, a capital raising bracket tournament sponsored by Castle Placement, CUNY Startups and Amazon, took place on May 3rd at Amazon Loft in SoHo.
Each finalist presented their company, opportunity, and strategy to the judges, and responded to spirited and thoughtful questions from the judges. The winner of the contest, OASIX, was selected by the judges (from Blackrock, Amazon, Castle Placement, and CUNY Startups) and the audience (voting on their phones). OASIX is a growing company that helps charitable organizations provide attribution to its donors.  “We were thrilled to win the CPGO Comp II contest. We have received tremendous exposure and were delighted to communicate the OASIX story. We believe that OASIX can disrupt the charitable space and change the way people donate money to make a positive impact in the world,” said Jose Muñoz, Chief Executive Officer.
Throughout the tournament some of CUNY’s best students pitched their businesses on Castle Placement’s website, as if they were presenting to investors to raise capital. The contestants were all great companies poised for growth. “We were amazed at the great ideas and fantastic presentations submitted by the CUNY students” said Richard Luftig, a Managing Partner at Castle Placement. “Many of these students are managing to simultaneously go to school full-time and create incredible businesses. The companies were extremely diverse with respect to industries, stages, etc., but they were all incredibly exciting businesses presented by great teams.”
“The students presented some outstanding ideas for new ventures,” said Remy Arteaga, Executive Director of CUNY Startups. “This competition is a great place for students to test out their ideas in the marketplace. The CPGO Comp competition is a terrific complement to our other new venture programs.”
All contestants received free exposure on Castle Placement’s website. Thousands of voters narrowed the field in on-line voting from April 22nd through April 26th. The four finalists pitched at the grand finale, a well-attended live Amazon Loft event. The grand prize was free access to 100 targeted investors with contact information on the CPGO Network, Castle Placement’s proprietary capital raising app (cpgoapp.com), and a free three-month listing on Castle Placement’s website.
Stay tuned for CPGO Comp III.
