Merger/Acquisition and Corporate
1. IP Genie, provider of telecommunication services intended to offer Voice over Internet Protocol solutions for municipalities, schools, libraries, nonprofit organizations, and businesses throughout Connecticut, was acquired by CCi Voice.
Buyout/LBO
2. Kay Radio, provider of communication services intended for efficient fleet and organizational connectivity, was acquired by Mobile Communications America, via its financial sponsor Sentinel Capital Partners, through an LBO.
3. T-Metrics, provider of contact center services intended to optimize customer interactions across voice, chat, email, and SMS, was acquired by NUSO, via its financial sponsor McCarthy Capital, through an LBO.
Later Stage VC
4. Astranis, operator of a satellite internet company intended to bridge the digital divide, raised an additional $50 million of Series D venture funding from NTT Docomo Ventures, and other investors.
5. Eridan, developer of radio frequency communication equipment designed to build an energy-efficient and spectrum-efficient path to 5G effectively, raised $3.05 million of venture funding.
6. Quantum Corridor, provider of secure fiber-optic network intended to facilitate inter-institutional collaboration through quantum-safe communication, including available Quantum Key Distribution, raised $10 million of Series A venture funding.
Angel, Seed, and Grant
7. Brightspeed, provider of telecommunications and internet services intended for clients in North Carolina, received $7.51 million of grant funding.
