EdTech Capital Raises in the U.S. – August 1st-11th, 2024

The EdTech sector has seen significant activity this past week, with several companies securing substantial funding to drive innovation.

Here are the capital raises:

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

    1. Dokeos, a digital learning software provider based in Worcester, Massachusetts, was acquired by Lyvia Group through an LBO.

Later Stage VC

    1. BetterUp, located in Austin, Texas, raised an undisclosed amount in later-stage VC funding. (Investor: Meros Equity Global Management)

Early Stage VC

    1. Brisk Teaching, based in Los Altos, California, raised $6.9 million in early-stage VC funding to enhance its AI-driven educational tools. (New Investors: Coalition Operators, Coherence Fund, Owl Ventures)

Seed Round, Angel, and Grant

    1. Tedu, an e-learning platform based in Miami, Florida, raised $2 million in seed funding to enhance its educational offerings. (Lead Investor: Cofounders Capital)
    2. Words Liive, an educational platform in Washington, D.C., joined the 757 Accelerate program with a $20,000 grant to expand its literacy tools.
    3. Heeyo, based in Palo Alto, California, secured $3.5 million in seed funding to scale its AI-powered education platform. (Investors: Acorn Pacific Ventures, Amazon Alexa Fund, Chartline Capital Partners)
    4. Skillful.ly, from San Francisco, California, raised $2.5 million to advance its personalized learning platform. (Lead Investor: Better Ventures)
