Food Products and Beverages Capital Raises in the U.S. – January 16th-31st, 2025

  1. Odd Burger, plant-based food technology company that manufactures and distributes plant-based protein and dairy alternatives using locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, received CAD 1.43 million of development capital through a private placement.
  2. Pangea Natural Foods, engages in the production and sale of plant-based patties, received CAD 500,000 of development capital from undisclosed investors on January 20, 2025 through a private placement.

Buyout/LBO

  1. Farmers Hen House, distributor of organic and pasture-raised eggs intended for natural, supermarket, mass and club channel customers, acquired by Pete & Gerry’s, via its financial sponsors Butterfly Equity, CFT Capital Partners, Benford Capital Partners, Unfold Ventures, Rabo Investments and British Columbia Investment Management, through an LBO.
  2. Parishables Food Service, retailer of a comprehensive selection of fresh produce intended to meet the diverse needs of the food service industry, acquired by Mr Greens Produce, via its financial sponsors Churchill Asset Management, Sterling Investment Partners, NXT Capital, Ares Capital, The Hillman Company and Ares Management, through an LBO.

Merger/Acquisition

  1. Dempsey Bakery, operator of a bakery catering to restaurants and small groceries across Arkansas, acquired by Friendly Bakery.
  2. Siete Family Foods, producer of grain-free food products intended to provide consumers with healthy Mexican-American food, acquired by Pepsico for $1.2 billion.

Seed Round

  1. Clementine’s Naughty & Nice Creamery, operator of an ice cream shop chain intended to serve unique small-batch ice cream flavors, including alcoholic and vegan options, raised $1.15 million of seed funding.
  2. Ethel’s Baking Co., producer of baked goods intended to provide gluten-free dessert bars, raised $2.5 million of seed funding.

Accelerator/Incubator

  1. WHIMS Delights, producer of plant-based treats intended to offer creamy flavor and clean nutrition panel, joined The Future Collective as a part of its Fourth Annual Business Accelerator.
