Insurance/InsurTech Capital Raises in the U.S. – January 16th-31st, 2025

Later Stage VC

    1. Clearcover, developer of an online car insurance platform designed to offer the right coverage and improve automobile insurance, raised $26 million of venture funding.
    2. InRev, developer of an automated surety underwriting platform intended to transform construction insurance, raised $3.75 million of venture funding from Greenlight Capital Re, Scrappy Capital and Grant Park Ventures.
    3. InsureLife, developer of an AI-powered digital platform designed to connect insurers with insurance purchasers, raised $4.65 million of venture funding.
    4. Openly, provider of personal lines insurance services intended to be distributed through independent agents, raised $193 million of venture funding through a combination of debt and equity.
    5. The Helper Bees, provider of insurance technology services intended to improve the home care experience for the payer and care recipient, raised $33.76 million of Series C venture funding in a deal led by Centana Growth Partners.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

    1. Frontier Risk, operator of a cannabis insurance platform intended to offer optimal risk management advisory services, raised $3 million of Seed-1 funding in a deal led by Casa Verde Capital.
    2. Jet Surety, developer of fintech platform designed to provide surety bonds at affordable prices, raised $3.32 million of seed funding.
    3. Qumis, developer of a legal and insurance tool designed to change insurance knowledge work with AI, raised $2.54 million through a combination of Pre-Seed funding in a deal led by Armory Square Ventures.

Former Head of Corporate Finance M&A Americas for the Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO Bank, based in New York. Began his career at ABN AMRO Bank in Japan, and subsequently in The Netherlands in the Corporate Finance department. Was seconded to New York in 2006 to co-establish the ABN AMRO North America Corporate Finance M&A department and grew it by advising medium and large companies on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, capital raisings and capital structurings. Led the management buyout of RBS Bank Mexico and RBS Broker-Dealer Mexico in 2014 and spearheaded the subsequent growth of the bank as Head of Investment Banking & Corporate Development. During his tenure he supported companies with capital and financing solutions with a focus on companies in the US and Mexican energy infrastructure sector and fintech sector. Holds a master’s degree in economics from Groningen University, The Netherlands. Holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
