Top 10 Legal Tech Capital Raises in the U.S. – October 1st-15th, 2024

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

  1. Angeion Group, provider of legal noticing and class action administration services, was acquired by Renovus Capital Partners through an LBO.
  2. Evisort, developer of an AI-powered innovative contract management platform, was acquired by Workday.

Later Stage VC

  1. Document Crunch, developer of an AI-powered document review platform designed to make contract inspections fast and easy, raised $21.5 million of Series B venture funding in a deal led by Titanium Ventures.
  2. EvenUp, developer of legal practice management software designed for getting fair trials and outcomes in personal injury cases, raised $135 million of Series D venture funding in a deal led by Bain Capital Ventures, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $945 million.
  3. Rimsys, developer of a cloud-based regulatory software designed to help medical device companies actively track the regulatory landscape, raised $5.3 million through a combination of Series AA-1, and Series AA venture funding from Riverfront Ventures, Innovation Works and GO Philly Fund putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $21 million.
  4. Case Status, operator of a client relationship management and marketing platform intended to improve lawyer-client communications, raised $19.7 million through the combination of debt, Series A, Seed3-2 venture funding in a deal led by Grayhawk Capital and Topmark Partners, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $42 million.
  5. DocJuris, developer of a contract negotiation platform designed to provide a fast and accurate way to close deals, raised $8 million through a combination of Series A-1, and Series A-4 venture funding in a deal led by Silverton Partners, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $19 million.

Early Stage VC

  1. Noetica, developer of a data analysis platform intended to extract knowledge from complex financial documents, raised $22 million of Series A venture funding in a deal led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
  2. ClearEstate, developer of an administration and planning platform intended to simplify the estate execution process, raised an undisclosed amount of venture funding from IGM Financial.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

  1. Billables, developer of an AI-powered time tracking platform designed for lawyers, consultants and professional services, raised $3.9 million of Seed funding in a deal led by Wing Venture Capital, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $11.1 million.
