OSL
Overview
OSL Concrete is raising $36.3 million to disrupt the stagnant ready-mix concrete (RMC) delivery market by re-purposing offshore supply vessels with a patented, ship-based concrete plant to deliver concrete to key coastal and waterway markets and offshore projects.
Key reasons to invest include:
Substantial market – concrete is the most used building material throughout the world. The global RMC market is projected to grow from $792 billion in 2021 to $1.4 trillion in 2028
Will operate specially designed vessels with storage, production, and pumping systems to deliver RMC directly to projects that are within one mile of the waterfront or to truck to load-out sites
Expect to deliver concrete at half the price and better margins compared to land based RMC suppliers
OLS’s deliver methodology provides significant relief from the environmental impacts of land-based delivery methods, especially in congested urban areas

OSL
Opportunity
Concrete is the most used material throughout the world, and creates 5% of the world’s carbon emissions
RMC logistical challenges include high cost of transport, large environmental impact and short shelf life
RMC is typically mixed at one location and loaded into numerous mixer trucks to be transported to the site where it must be poured and placed, all within approximately one hour
trucking of both raw materials and RMC is the standard and yet weakest link in the manufacturing process, adding costs of roughly 40% and tons of CO2 emissions
RMC transportation becomes increasingly difficult and costly in densely populated areas, particularly those in coastal regions and remote areas

OSL
Solution/Strategy
OSL has developed a patented marine platform to deliver RMC to coastal and waterway markets and offshore construction projects
Will operate specially designed vessels with storage, production, and pumping systems to deliver RMC directly to projects that are within one mile of the waterfront or to truck to load-out sites
The OSL Concrete Supply Vessels (“CSV”) is developed from a repurposed offshore supply vessel, upgraded as hybrid diesel electric, outfitted with two RMC wet batch plants, pumps, piping systems and carbon capture technology
OLS’s deliver methodology provides significant relief from the environmental impacts of traditional concrete
