Merger/Acquisition
- Izakaya Ko, restaurant and gastropub based in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, that specializes in Japanese cuisine, was acquired by Pearl Hospitality Group.
Early Stage VC
- Kingdom Coffee Houses, coffee shop that promotes social interaction and spiritual engagement among young individuals, raised venture funding from Impact Foundation.
- Rooted, restaurant company that serves healthy meals to consumers, raised venture funding from Habitat Partners.
- Saksey’s, restaurant that provides food, drinks, and a rich atmosphere, raised venture funding from Rock Ventures.
Buyout/LBO
- Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, fast-food restaurant chain that offers cooked-to-order meals and brings families and loved ones together, was acquired by Rhône Group through a $700 million LBO.
Angel (individual)
- Seattle, Mediterranean-inspired bagel and coffee company that blends bold flavors with warm hospitality, raised $450,000 of angel funding.
