Space Technology Capital Raises in the U.S. – July 25-31, 2024

    1. Syqwest, based in Cranston, Rhode Island, was acquired for $125 million. The company designs sonar and acoustic sensing solutions for naval applications, including surface ship and submarine hull-mounted sensors, enhancing marine capabilities. (Post Valuation: $125 million).
    2. Bentley, a retail company from Montreal, Quebec, was acquired to expand its offerings of luggage and travel accessories, with a focus on providing innovative solutions for space technology applications.
    3. Electra.aero, based in Manassas, Virginia, raised funds for its hybrid-electric aircraft designed for sustainable urban and regional mobility. The company’s electric airplanes are equipped with pilot assistance systems and powered-lift technology, supporting environmentally friendly transportation. (Lead Investor: Honeywell).
    4. Look North World, located in Dover, Delaware, secured $4.5 million in seed funding to develop a gaming platform using Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), focusing on creating high-quality social games and virtual experiences with space themes. (Lead Investor: London Venture Partners, Post Valuation: $9.25 million).
