Top 10 Aerospace Capital Raises in the U.S. – October 16th-31st, 2024

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

1. Azure Summit Technology, operator of an RF engineering company, was acquired by CACI International for $1.275 billion. The acquisition also brings an installed base of mature, fielded technology, aligning with CACI’s focus on national security priorities.

2. Terran Orbital, a manufacturer of satellite products primarily serving the aerospace and defense industries. The company was acquired by Lockheed Martin, a subsidiary of Martin Marietta for $322.65 million with a goal of expanding its footprint in the space industry.

3. Digital Receiver Technology, a company that develops advanced software-defined radio systems for signals intelligence, serving the intelligence, defense, and homeland security sectors was acquired by Thales Defense & Security.

4. Concordia Technologies, specializing in missile defense modeling and simulation was acquired by Special Aerospace Services, via its financial sponsor Godspeed Capital, through an LBO.

5. Folsys Engineering, provider of technology services intended to serve the aerospace industry and federal government. The company was acquired by Titania Solutions Group, a subsidiary of SwishData.

Later Stage VC

6. BETA Technologies, operator of an electric aerospace company intended to create a new paradigm for transporting goods and people raised $318 million in Series C funding to certify its ALIA aircraft scale production, deliver aircraft and chargers as electric aviation adoption begins.

7. ORB Aerospace, developer of an electric aircraft raised $2.85 million of venture funding through the combination of options and warrants.

Early Stage VC

8. Lumen Orbit, developer of in-orbit data processing services intended to design and build a network of megawatt-scale data centers in space raised $10 million of venture funding.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

9. Matter, developer of a sensor infrastructure raised $12 million of seed funding in a deal led by Lowercarbon Capital. The funds will be used to build and demonstrate its sensor suite, expand the company and brand, and extend customer engagement.

10. Bavovna, operator of AI-powered navigation tech intended to operate in global positioning system compromised environments raised $2.7 million of seed funding in a deal led by Presto Ventures.
