Top 10 Aerospace and Defense Capital Raises in the U.S. – October 1st-15th, 2024

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

  1. Prescott Precision Die, manufacturer of tight tolerance turbine engine components intended for the aerospace and defense industry, was acquired by Pursuit Aerospace through an LBO.
  2. Radiance Ignite Technologies, provider of technology development services intended to empower military forces and safeguard national interests, formed as a joint venture between Ignite Fueling Innovation and Radiance Technologies.
  3. Mitchell PMA, manufacturer of aircraft parts intended to enhance airplane safety and efficiency, was acquired by Jet Parts Engineering, through an LBO.

Later Stage VC

  1. Impulse Space, Manufacturer of aviation and aerospace components designed for economical and last-mile space payload delivery, raised $150 million of Series B venture funding in a deal led by Founders Fund, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $360 million.
  2. Obsidian Sensors, developer of high-resolution thermal imaging sensors and cameras designed for automotive, security/surveillance, drones, and industrial applications, raised $1.9 million of venture funding from Innolux, Himax Technologies and EvoNexus, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $48.1 million.

Early Stage VC

  1. AndrenaM, provider of subsea monitoring and AI-driven swarm defense systems intended to create a unified mesh network, raised $210 million of venture funding from Banter Capital.
  2. E-Space, operator of a global space company intended for bridging Earth and space with a sustainable low earth orbit network, raised venture funding from Allon Ventures.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

  1. Salient Motion, developer an electric motion operating system designed to reimagine the American supply chain, raised $11.40 million through a combination of Seed funding in a deal led by Cantos Ventures, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $19.60 million.
  2. Valinor, developer of a go-to-market engine designed for technologists building products for defense, raised seed funding from General Catalyst, Founders Fund and Red Cell Partners.
  3. Orbotic Systems, developer of space technology solutions designed for satellite deorbiting, space debris removal and space weather forecasting, received $825,000 of grant funding from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as a part of its SBIR grants.
