PIPE
- Cyngn, a vehicle technology company that addresses industrial uses for autonomous vehicles, received $9.65 million of development capital through a private placement.
- Faraday&Future, a shared intelligent mobility ecosystem, received $12 million of development capital from Qualigen Diagnostics through a private placement.
Merger/Acquisition
- Phantom AI, driver assistance technology that creates natural vehicle movement by predicting the motion of objects, was acquired by Harbinger.
- Pronto (Road), autonomous vehicle haulage technology for trucks with fully integrated and original equipment manufacturer-independent products, was acquired by Travis Kalanick.
Later Stage VC
- Ethernovia, an automotive networking technology for next-generation vehicle communication, raised $90 million through a combination of Series B and Series B-1 venture funding in a deal led by Maverick Silicon.
- Volektra, an electric drivetrain and conversion technology that upgrades existing light and micro vehicles to battery-powered operation, raised $5 million of Series A venture funding in a deal led by Accel.
- Waabi, generative AI-powered autonomous trucking platform that revolutionizes logistics, raised $750 million of Series C venture funding in a deal led by Khosla Ventures and G2 Venture Partners.
- Waymo, self-driving technology that offers on-demand riding services, raised $16 billion of Series D venture funding in a deal led by Dragoneer Investment Group, Mubadala Investment Company, DST Global and Sequoia Capital, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $110 billion.
Early Stage VC
- Overland AI, AI-based autonomous navigation and transportation technology for off-road autonomy in mission-critical sectors, raised $100 million of Series A1 venture funding through combination of equity & debt in a deal led by 8VC.
Grant
- Kelly Hills Unmanned Systems, autonomous agricultural aviation and ground vehicles for farmers, ag retailers, researchers, and commercial operators, received $3 million of grant funding from Kansas Department of Agriculture.
