Top 10 Clean Energy/CleanTech Capital Raises in the U.S. – August 12th-18th, 2024

The Clean Energy/CleanTech sector has seen significant activity this past week, with several companies securing substantial funding to drive innovation.

Here are the top capital raises:

Merger/Acquisition

  1. SRE Power, based in Houston, Texas, was acquired by Asia Properties for $72 million.

Later Stage VC

  1. Svante, located in Burnaby, British Columbia, raised $50 million in later-stage VC funding to further their carbon capture technology. (New Investor: Canada Growth Fund)
  2. Thintronics, based in Berkeley, California, secured $23 million in later-stage VC funding to expand its thin-film electronics solutions. (Lead Investor: Maverick Capital)
  3. BinSentry, located in Kitchener, Ontario, raised $15 million in later-stage VC capital to enhance its IoT solutions for agriculture. (Lead Investor: Spring Mountain Capital)
  4. Johnson Energy Storage, from Atlanta, Georgia, secured $10.67 million in later-stage VC funding to advance its energy storage solutions.
  5. EcoLectro, based in Ithaca, New York, raised $10.61 million to further its innovative electrolyzer technology. (Lead Investor: Toyota Ventures)
  6. Ambercycle, from Los Angeles, California, raised $10 million in later-stage VC funding to develop sustainable textile recycling. (New Investor: Shinkong Synthetic Fiber)
  7. Ambri, located in Marlborough, Massachusetts, raised $7.36 million in later-stage VC funding to scale its liquid metal battery technology.
  8. PowerLight Technologies, located in Kent, Washington, secured $5.25 million to develop wireless power transmission solutions.

Early Stage VC

  1. Aalo Atomics, based in Austin, Texas, raised $27 million in early-stage VC funding to innovate in atomic layer deposition technology. (Lead Investors: Fifty Years, Valor Equity Partners)
