Top 10 CleanTech/Clean Energy Capital Raises in the U.S. – January 1st-15th, 2025

PIPE

  1. Clear Blue Technologies, engaged in the business of developing and selling Smart Off-Grid power solutions and management services to the power, control, monitor, manage, and proactively service solar and hybrid-powered systems such as street lights, security systems, telecommunications systems, emergency power, and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, received CAD 1.58 million of development capital.
  2. Electric Royalties Ltd, royalty company established to take advantage of the demand for a wide range of commodities that will benefit from the drive toward electrification of a variety of consumer products: cars, rechargeable batteries, large scale energy storage, renewable energy generation and other applications, received CAD 2.50 million of development capital.

Merger/Acquisition

  1. BrainBox AI, developer of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technology designed to optimize the energy consumption of buildings proactively, acquired by Trane Technologies.
  2. Vertage, producer of plant-based cheese products intended to offer a variety of animal-free cheese, acquired by Misha’s.
  3. Atomo, producer of a molecular beverage intended to create naturally derived coffee without beans, raised $7.85 million through a combination of Series B-1 and Series B-2 venture funding.
  4. Butlr, developer of a sensor trajectory platform intended to provide a seamless automated smart building experience, raised $42.50 million through a combination of Series B venture funding in a deal led by Foundry Capital.

Early Stage VC

  1. Gridware, developer of a grid monitoring system designed to detect and predict faults, raised $26.4 million of Series A-1 venture funding in a deal led by Sequoia Capital.
  2. Scout Discoveries, operator of a mineral exploration company intended to offer major precious-base metals discovery,raised $5.75 million of venture funding from Rhea Capital Management and other investors.

Seed Round

  1. Carbon Reform, operator of a climate tech company intended to develop technologies that address environmental challenges, raised $4.22 million of seed funding in the form of convertible debt from Azolla Ventures, Cisco Foundation, and other investors.
  2. EarthAcre, provider of environmental technology services intended to mitigate climate change and biodiversity collapse with community knowledge and technology, raised $1.54 million of Seed-3 funding.
