Top 10 EdTech Capital Raises in the U.S. – October 1st-15th, 2024

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

  1. PowerSchool Group, a provider of cloud-based software to the K-12 education market, was acquired by Bain Capital, Vista Equity Partners and Onex, through a $5.6 billion public-to-private LBO.
  2. OffSec, provider of professional and workforce development, training, and education services, was acquired by Leeds Equity Partners through an LBO.
  3. Loom, developer of a health education platform intended to educate on topics from periods to parenting, was acquired by Perelel.
  4. EastBanc Technologies, provider of cutting-edge technology software solutions, was acquired by Solvd , via its financial sponsor Siguler Guff, through an LBO.

Early Stage VC

  1. Pete Learning, developer of an artificial intelligence-powered learning platform, raised venture funding from BlueWave Resource Partners.
  2. Curio XR, developer of virtual classroom application intended for students from ten years old through college, raised venture funding from Learn Capital.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

  1. dabbL, developer of an AI-powered comprehensive personalized college and career guidance platform, joined Blue Startups as a part of Cohort 16 and received $25,000 in funding.
  2. ParaAI, developer of an artificial intelligence writing tool designed to improve writing, company joined Dirigo Labs. No equity or funding was exchanged as a result of this program.
  3. tapouts, provider of e-learning services intended to teach young people skills they don’t learn in school, raised $3.2 million of seed funding from Tatler, EBM Capital and M Venture Partners, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $16.8 million.
  4. Afterschool HQ, developer of a youth program management software designed to connect youth with engaging after-school and summer learning programs, raised $1.15 million of Seed-5 funding from Elevate Ventures, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $11.7 million.
