Top 10 Food Products and Beverages Capital Raises in the U.S. – May 16th to 31st, 2025

PE Growth/Expansion

    1. Drake Meats, premium craft meats intended to bring people together around good food, received development capital from Westcap Management and other investors.
    2. NuTrail, low-sugar food products intended to restrict highly processed items and unhealthy fats, received development capital from EagleTree Capital.

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

    1. Stolen, beverages and spirits based in Chicago, Illinois, was acquired.
    2. Macalat, organic dark chocolate intended to redefine and disrupt the chocolate industry with a new category, was acquired by Birmingham Chocolate.
    3. Poppi, prebiotic soda beverages designed to support digestive health, was acquired by PepsiCo for $1.95 billion.

Later Stage VC

    1. Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, fast-casual dining brand intended to transform traditional diner dishes into various dumpling forms, raised $980,000 of venture funding through a combination of debt and equity.
    2. The Organic Snack Company, organic food products intended to provide snack items in America, raised $135,000 of venture funding through a combination of debt and equity.

Early Stage VC 

    1. Eastern Light Distilling, local beverages intended to create bourbon, raised $10.4 million of venture funding.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

    1. Omega 3 Nutrition, nutritional food products intended to offer brain and mental well-being, raised seed funding in a deal led by Capitalize VC.
    2. Rootberry, food company intended to offer plant-based meals for customers, raised $5.99 million of seed funding.
