    1. Martie, online discount grocery marketplace that serves consumers in the United States, received development capital from Altelan Capital.

Merger/Acquisition

    1. Epicurate, hospitality platform for users to book private chefs for their dinner parties or special events, was acquired by Journey.
    2. Kitchen Robotics, robotic kitchen solution that automates the preparation of various dishes, was acquired by Circus Group.

Later Stage VC

    1. Brooklyn Dumpling Shop, automated quick-service food service and ordering system for on-demand meal preparation and pickup, raised $1.24 million of venture funding.
    2. Marble (Lincoln), intelligent automation technology that performs labour-intensive meat processing tasks, raised $14.41 million of venture funding.
    3. Yami, online retail platform that offers multi-line products with home delivery, raised Series C venture funding from Mitsubishi.

Early Stage VC 

    1. DineU, campus food delivery platform that connects university dining options with students’ networks, raised venture funding from MOVE Venture Capital.

Angel and Seed

    1. Matter (Restaurants, Hotels and Leisure), personalized meal platform that aligns dietary intake with individual wellness objectives, raised $577,000 of angel funding through the combination of options and warrants.
    2. rBAR, mobile application-based alcoholic beverage and food delivery platform that provides on-demand bartending and beverage services to guests at vacation rental properties and private events, raised $70,000 of angel funding in the form of SAFE notes.
    3. Farm to People, direct-to-consumer online grocery delivery service for urban residents seeking locally sourced food from regional farms, raised $4.25 million through a combination of Seed-1 and Seed-2 funding.
