Top 10 Insurance/InsurTech Capital Raises and Investors in the U.S. – January 1st – 31st, 2026

Merger/Acquisition

    1. Newfront, insurance brokerage technology that assists businesses in purchasing insurance packages based on insight-based recommendations, was acquired by Willis Towers Watson for $1.3 billion.
    2. Obie, insurance and risk management platform that provides a simple, affordable, and transparent insurance experience for landlords and real estate investors, was acquired by The Baldwin Group.

Buyout/LBO

    1. InsurGrid, personalized insurance platform that connects the insurance space, was acquired by Helium Ventures through an LBO.

Later Stage VC

    1. FutureProof Technologies, insurtech platform that prices asset-specific resilience measures and reduces the risk for climate-resilient structures, raised venture funding from CLAI Ventures.
    2. OBAI, AI-powered insurance claims platform that automates insurance damage assessment procedures, raised venture funding from Connetic Ventures.

Early Stage VC 

    1. Corgi, artificial intelligence-powered insurance platform that automates and optimizes carrier operations, raised $108 million through a combination of Series A venture funding from Glade Brook Capital Partners, Nordstar Partners, Seven Stars Ventures and Leblon Capital.
    2. Gyde, artificial intelligence-native insurance brokerage platform that helps insurance agencies scale while maintaining client service quality, raised $60 million of venture funding in a deal led by Lightspeed Venture Partners.
    3. Indigo (Commercial/Professional Insurance), medical malpractice insurance platform that makes the insurance process more convenient for physicians and medical groups, raised $50 million of Series B venture funding in a deal led by Rubicon Founders.

Seed

    1. Mantas (Network Management Software), cloud-downtime insurance platform that bridges the gap in traditional cyber insurance while protecting businesses from cloud vulnerabilities and downtime risk, raised $1.77 million of pre-seed funding from Nuwa Capital, Suhail Ventures and Plus Venture Capital.
    2. Tivara, LLM based insurance approval software that automates insurance approval for healthcare clinics, raised $3.6 million of seed funding from Mischief, Day One Ventures and Y Combinator.

Began his career at ABN AMRO Bank in Japan, and subsequently in The Netherlands in the Corporate Finance department. Was seconded to New York in 2006 to co-establish the ABN AMRO North America Corporate Finance M&A department and grew it by advising medium and large companies on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, capital raisings and capital structurings. Led the management buyout of RBS Bank Mexico and RBS Broker-Dealer Mexico in 2014 and spearheaded the subsequent growth of the bank as Head of Investment Banking & Corporate Development. During his tenure he supported companies with capital and financing solutions with a focus on companies in the US and Mexican energy infrastructure sector and fintech sector. Holds a master’s degree in economics from Groningen University, The Netherlands. Holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
