- Hourly, compensation insurance platform that helps small business owners pay, manage, and protect their hourly workers, was acquired by WeSure Insurance.
- Novum Underwriting Partners, commercial and specialty insurance brokerage firm that serves small businesses to large corporations, was acquired by Steadfast Group.
- SuranceBay, insurance software solutions that automates the process of buying and selling insurance, was acquired by Verisk Analytics for $162.5 million.
Later Stage VC

- CoverRight, online insurance platform that provides navigation for medical care, raised $6.36 million of venture funding.
- Sola, data-driven insurance platform that offers coverage for wind, hail, and tornado-related property damage, raised $8.00 million of Series A venture funding in a deal led by FINTOP Capital and JAM FINTOP.

- Mantas, cloud-downtime insurance platform that bridges the gap in traditional cyber insurance while protecting businesses from cloud vulnerabilities and downtime risk, raised venture funding from Plus Venture Capital.
- VerEstate, title insurance platform that simplifies the real estate transaction process, raised venture funding from Campus Founders Fund.
Seed

- Avallon, insurance operations automation technology that streamlines claims management processes, raised $4.66 million of seed funding from 468 Capital, Booom and 1984 Ventures.
- Loro, insurance technology platform that digitizes insurance products anywhere in the world, raised $1.1 million of seed funding in a deal led by Markd.

Former Head of Corporate Finance M&A Americas for the Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO Bank, based in New York. Began his career at ABN AMRO Bank in Japan, and subsequently in The Netherlands in the Corporate Finance department. Was seconded to New York in 2006 to co-establish the ABN AMRO North America Corporate Finance M&A department and grew it by advising medium and large companies on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, capital raisings and capital structurings. Led the management buyout of RBS Bank Mexico and RBS Broker-Dealer Mexico in 2014 and spearheaded the subsequent growth of the bank as Head of Investment Banking & Corporate Development. During his tenure he supported companies with capital and financing solutions with a focus on companies in the US and Mexican energy infrastructure sector and fintech sector. Holds a master’s degree in economics from Groningen University, The Netherlands. Holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
