Merger/Acquisition

- LifeRaft, operator of a health insurance platform intended to address surprise-covered hospitalizations and their possible financial impact, was acquired by Vitable Health.
- Pattern, developer of an insurance platform designed to help businesses protect critical parts of their technology and cloud operations, was acquired by PassportCard, a subsidiary of White Mountains Insurance Group.
Later Stage VC

- Bestow, operator of an on-demand insurance aggregator platform intended to provide affordable, convenient, and life insurance services, raised $125 million through the combination of Series D, Series D NV venture funding and debt in a deal led by Goldman Sachs Growth Equity and Smith Point Capital.
- The Premins Company, operator of an insurance premium financing services company intended for commercial, personal, and assigned risk policies, raised $30.96 million of venture funding in the form of convertible debt.
- Wunderite, developer of an insurance software intended to serve insurance agents, raised $1.4 million of Series A1 venture funding.

- Strala, developer of an AI-powered outsourced claims processor platform designed for insurance carriers, captives, and MGAs, raised $3.96 million through the combination of Seed-1, Seed-2, and Seed-3 funding from Entrepreneurs First, Overlook and Plug and Play Tech Center.

Began his career at ABN AMRO Bank in Japan, and subsequently in The Netherlands in the Corporate Finance department. Was seconded to New York in 2006 to co-establish the ABN AMRO North America Corporate Finance M&A department and grew it by advising medium and large companies on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, capital raisings and capital structurings. Led the management buyout of RBS Bank Mexico and RBS Broker-Dealer Mexico in 2014 and spearheaded the subsequent growth of the bank as Head of Investment Banking & Corporate Development. During his tenure he supported companies with capital and financing solutions with a focus on companies in the US and Mexican energy infrastructure sector and fintech sector. Holds a master’s degree in economics from Groningen University, The Netherlands. Holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses.
