- DataGavel, a legal technology platform that brings data aggregation and deep collaboration to the torts practice, was acquired by Renvent through an LBO.
- LawBase, legal technology solutions that support case management and compliance purposes, was acquired by Onit, via its financial sponsors K1 Investment Management, Ebridge Ventures and Forum Asset Management (Canada) through an LBO.
- Plural Policy, public policy intelligence software that helps clients easily discover legislative data, was acquired by SAI360, via its financial sponsors Sixth Street Partners and STG Partners, through an LBO.
Early Stage VC
- Canarie, legal compliance software that simplifies and organizes workflow in one tab, raised venture funding from The Legal Tech Fund.
- Cicerai, a SaaS-based legal management platform that improves legal work with up-to-date knowledge and reduced implementation costs, raised venture funding from Seaya Ventures.
- Junior Law, an AI-powered patent drafting software that unburdens practitioners’ brilliance and accelerates the patent prosecution workflow for legal clients, raised an venture funding from Dysruptek.
Accelerator/Incubator
- Retrievables, a B2B legal marketplace that helps businesses recover money that is owed while securing new business for collections law firms, joined Gold Coast Tech Accelerator as a part of its Inaugural Cohort.
- Scan Logic, e-billing software that simplifies law firm finance, joined The Legal Tech Fund.
- SentencingStats, federal sentencing analysis platform that helps attorneys access and analyze federal sentencing, joined Google for Startups as a part of its Google Cloud for Startups Accelerator.
Angel (individual)
- Vala, a software platform that supports administrative workflows for professionals involved in veterans’ benefits claims, raised $10,000 of angel funding.
