Top 10 Metals, Minerals and Mining Capital Raises and Investors in the U.S. – January 1st to 31st, 2026

PE Growth/Expansion

  1. Atlantic Alumina Company, alumina refining, bauxite mining and chemical products for metallurgical and non-metallurgical applications, received $450 million of development capital from Concord Resources and United States Department of War.
  2. ReElement Technologies, separated and purified rare earth and critical elements for the electrification industry supply chain, received $200 million of development capital from Transition Equity Partners.

Merger/Acquisition

  1. Hybrid Hydrogen, helium exploration assets, was acquired by Pulsar Helium for $80,000 on January 5, 2026.
  2. Lundin Mining US, underground nickel and copper mining and milling operations, was acquired by Talon Metals for $127 million.

Later Stage VC

  1. KoBold Metals, mineral exploration that discovers materials critical to the electric vehicle and renewable energy revolutions, raised $280.00 million of Series C venture funding from investors.
  2. Noveon, sintered rare earth permanent magnets that serve the renewable power, medical, industrial automation, electric infrastructure and other industries, raised $215 million of Series C venture funding in a deal led by One Investment Management, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $590 million.

Early Stage VC

  1. Lightning Creek, gold exploration and mine development projects for precious metal production purposes, raised venture funding from The Norstar Group.
  2. Sovereign Materials, rare earth materials recovery and recycling process that converts domestic electronic waste into high-purity rare earth oxides and metals, raised venture funding from Interplay Ventures.

Seed Round

  1. CellMo Materials Innovation, metal foam materials for use in industrial and manufacturing applications, raised $5.72 million of Seed-4 funding from investors, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $18.69 million.
  2. Deep Sea Rare Minerals, deep-sea resources technology that improves both subsea and surface-handling efficiency, raised $5 million of seed funding from an investor.
