PE Growth/Expansion
- Torngat Metals, rare earth products for electric vehicle motors, motors of all types, wind turbines, consumer electronics and industrial robots, received $43.48 million of development capital from investors.
- US Strategic Metals, metal products that serve the renewable energy industries, received development capital from Appian Capital Advisory.
Merger/Acquisition
- Hybrid Hydrogen, helium exploration assets based in Michigan, was acquired by Pulsar Helium for $80,000.
- Lundin Mining US, underground nickel and copper mining and milling operations based in the USA, was acquired by Talon Metals for $127 million.
Later Stage VC
- Boston Metal, global metal technology that commercializes molten oxide electrolysis for high-volume steel production, raised Series 1 venture funding from Energy Impact Partners.
- Noveon, sintered rare earth permanent magnets that serve the renewable power, medical, industrial automation, electric infrastructure and other industries, raised $215 million of Series C venture funding in a deal led by One Investment Management, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $590 million.
Early Stage VC
- Lithios, Advanced Lithium Extraction (ALE) technology that captures and releases lithium from complex mixtures for an electric future using electrochemistry, raised $500,000 of venture funding.
- SuperCritical, technologies for extracting critical metals and nuclear fuel from seawater, raised $3.05 million of venture funding from American Ventures.
Seed Round
- Atana, data and technology systems that support the exploration and development of critical minerals and industrial gases, raised $27.5 million of seed funding from Borusan Ventures, Earthshot Ventures and Carnrite Ventures, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $42.00 million.
- CellMo Materials Innovation, metal foam materials for industrial and manufacturing applications in energy and thermal management sectors, raised $5.72 million of Seed-4 funding from investors, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $18.69 million.
