- Nevada Sunrise Metals, mining company that acquires, explores and evaluates its mineral property assets located in the State of Nevada, the United States of America, received CAD 650,000 of development capital from investors.
- Rio Silver, mining company that acquires, evaluates, and develops mineral properties in the Americas, received CAD 2.2 million of development capital from investors.
Merger/Acquisition
- EMX Royalty, royalty and prospect generator that explores for and generates royalties from, metals and minerals properties, was acquired by Elemental Altus Royalties for CAD 704.395 million.
- Augusta Gold, exploration-stage gold company that focuses on building a long-term business that delivers stakeholder value through developing its Bullfrog and Reward gold projects and pursuing accretive merger and acquisition opportunities, was acquired by Anglogold Ashanti for CAD 198.662 million.
Later Stage VC
- Fabric8Labs, non-thermal metal 3D printing technology that offers an alternative to the current powder bed fusion technologies, raised $50 million of venture funding in a deal led by Intel Capital and New Enterprise Associates.
- KoBold Metals, mineral exploration company that discovers materials critical for the electric vehicle and renewable energy revolutions, raised $163.43 million of Series C Prime venture funding from investors, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $4.21 billion.
Early Stage VC
- Rareform Metals, metal production technology that extracts metals using a sustainable and scalable process, raised venture funding from Founders, Inc.
- Scout Discoveries, precious and base metal exploration project that identifies mineral deposits in the mining regions of Idaho, raised $428,000 of venture funding from investors.
Seed Round
- GCR Group, mineral extraction and processing operations company that supplies global industries with consistent, high-quality raw materials, raised $5 million of seed funding in the form of convertible debt from investors.
- Silver Bow Mining, underground extraction processes platform for resource development, raised $2.49 million of seed funding from investors.
