Top 10 Oncology Capital Raises in the U.S. – June 1st-15th, 2025

PE Growth/Expansion

    1. HerScan, mobile breast ultrasound screening company intends to provide access to breast ultrasound testing, received development capital from Next Coast ETA.
    2. OncoHealth (Atlanta), healthcare utilization management technology designed to help manage the total cost of cancer care, received development capital from Cigna Ventures.

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

    1. Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, cancer treatment intended to provide medical oncology and hematology, was acquired by McKesson for $2.49 billion.
    2. Focal Medical (Drug Delivery), novel drug delivery systems created for cancers that are difficult to treat with systemic therapy alone, was acquired by Continuity Biosciences.

Later Stage VC

    1. GT Medical Technologies, medical therapeutic device designed to overcome the limitations of current treatments by placing it after the tumor removal, raised $53.30 million of Series D venture funding in a deal led by Evidity Health Capital and Accelmed.
    2. ViroMissile, medical cures designed to provide treatment for cancer, raised $500,000 of venture funding.

Early Stage VC 

    1. Antares Therapeutics, biotechnology company intended to develop first-in-class precision medicines targeting previously undruggable cancer and serious disease targets, raised $177 million through a combination of Series A-1 and Series A-2 venture funding in a deal led by Cormorant Asset Management, Atlas Venture, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.
    2. Curve Biosciences, liver cancer diagnostics designed for disease prevention and screening, raised venture funding from First Spark Ventures.
    3. Illuminate Therapeutics, drug delivery system designed to treat oncology and autoimmune diseases, raised venture funding from General Inception.

Seed

    1. Targepeutics, biopharmaceutical company intended to develop molecularly targeted therapeutics to fight cancer and other diseases, raised $200,000 of seed funding.
