Top 10 Oncology Capital Raises in the U.S. – May 1st-15th, 2025

PIPE

    1. MAIA Biotechnology, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing targeted immunotherapies for cancer, received $1.08 million of development capital through a private placement.
    2. The Oncology Institute, offers oncology services committed to improving cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, research, and education, received $16.5 million of development capital from Deerfield Management and other investors through a private placement.

Merger/Acquisition

    1. 2Seventy Bio, a cell and gene therapy company focused on the research, development, and commercialization of transformative treatments for cancer, was acquired by Bristol-Myers Squibb for $501.025 million.
    2. Ezra, developer of screening equipment designed to make early detection of cancer screening more accessible and affordable, was acquired by Function Health.

Later Stage VC

    1. Avammune Therapeutics, developer of non-nucleotide small-molecule inhibitors designed for the treatment of cancer and infectious diseases, raised $12 million of Series A venture funding in a deal led by Capital 2B, Shastra VC and Kotak Alternate Assets Managers.
    2. BioSkryb Genomics, developer of a genome amplification system designed to utilize cellular heterogeneity, raised $20 million of venture funding from Anzu Partners and Seed Healthcare.

Early Stage VC 

    1. ROSE Diagnostics, developer of lymph biomarkers designed for cancer diagnostics, raised $2.34 million of venture funding.
    2. Nucleo, developer of an artificial intelligence-based detection technology designed to enhance cancer treatment decisions, raised venture funding from Lombardstreet Ventures.

Seed

    1. Complement 1, operator of a healthcare platform intended to improve cancer-related health outcomes, raised $16 million of Seed funding in a deal led by Owl Ventures and Blume Ventures.
    2. Crosslink Therapeutics, developer of oncology therapeutics designed to treat cancer, raised $4.25 million of seed funding from Cure Ventures and other investors.
