Top 10 Oncology Capital Raises in the U.S. – November 16th-30th, 2024

PIPE

1.  Exicure, a biotechnology company that develops nucleic acid therapies targeting ribonucleic acid against validated targets for neurological disorders and hair loss, received $1.3 million of development capital from Hitron Systems through a private placement.

Buyout/LBO

2.  ALZET Osmotic Pumps, manufacturer of infusion pumps and related accessories designed for universities and research institutions, was acquired by Lafayette Instrument Company, via its financial sponsor Branford Castle Partners, through an LBO.

Later Stage VC

3.  Gliknik, operator of a biopharmaceutical company intended to treat cancer and autoimmune diseases, raised $11.17 million of venture funding in the form of convertible debt.

4.  Strand Therapeutics, provider of biotechnology services intended to create gene therapies powered by synthetic biology, raised a venture funding from JIC Venture Growth Investments.

5.  Strata Oncology, operator of an oncology company intended to accelerate the impact of precision medicine for patients with cancer, raised $6.15 million of venture funding i the form of convertible debt.

Early Stage VC

6.   OncoVerity, operator of a biotechnology firm intended to develop targeted therapies for cancer, raised an undisclosed amount of Series A venture funding in a deal led by Argenx and RefinedScience.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

7.   ARIZ Precision Medicine, developer a precision medicine platform designed to develop drugs that will get to the right place at the right time, raised $110,000 of angel funding.

8.   NXgenPort, developer of a digital health technology designed to maximize remote care for cancer patients, raised a seed funding from CANCER FUND.

 

    1. Valora Therapeutics, operator of a pre-clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, raised $29.97 million of Seed funding in a deal led by Avalon Bioventures, Bregua Corporation and TigerGene.
    2. OverT Bio, operator of a biotech company intended to provide cell therapy for cancers, received $120,000 of grant funding from ScaleReady.
