Top 10 Oncology Capital Raises in the U.S. – October 1st-15th, 2024

PIPE

  1. OnKure Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering and developing top-tier precision medicines, received $65 million of development capital from Deep Track Capital, Acorn Bioventures, Samsara BioCapital, Perceptive Advisors, Surveyor Capital, Cormorant Asset Management, and Vestal Point Capital.
  2. Pfizer, one of the world’s largest pharmaceutical firms, received $1 billion of development capital from Starboard Value through a private placement.

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

  1. Breast Center of Acadiana, operator of a breast imaging center dedicated to providing a secure environment with a focus on the early and accurate detection of breast cancer, was acquired by Solis Mammography through an LBO.
  2. SkinCure Oncology, developer of a skin cancer treatment technology, was acquired by H.I.G. Capital through an LBO.

Later Stage VC

  1. Antiva Biosciences, developer of small molecule antivirals designed to improve health outcomes for patients suffering from diseases caused by HPV and other viruses, raised $53 million of Series E venture funding in a deal led by MPM BioImpact, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $70 million.
  2. MEDIC Life Sciences, developer of a drug discovery platform designed to provide synergistic drug combinations for cancer treatment, raised $5 million of venture funding in a deal led by Hanmi Pharmaceutical and LG.

Early Stage VC

  1. KiraGen Bio, developer of a biotechnology platform intended to unlock the full potential of CAR-T cells against solid tumors, raised venture funding from 2048 Ventures, Lexi Ventures and Gaingels.
  2. Granville Labs, developer of a medical software platform designed to streamline workflows for clinicians in various specialities, raised venture funding from Magarac Venture Partners.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

  1. Joya HealthJoya Health, operator of a skincare health and wellness company, raised $5 million of seed funding from Arsama Trust, Joyance Partners and Lux Capital.
  2. Kubanda Cryotherapy, developer of a cryoablation technology designed to provide an alternative to surgical resections, raised $1.6 million of seed funding from TEDCO, GrowthX Capital and Boot64 Ventures.
