Top 10 Oncology Capital Raises in the U.S. – September 16th-30th, 2024

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

  1. Doherty Dermatology, a dermatology-focused cancer treatment provider, was acquired by Frontier Dermatology through an LBO backed by A&M Capital.
  1. IMD, a provider of medical imaging solutions, was acquired by LabGenomics.
  1. G1 Therapeutics, a developer of cancer therapies, was acquired by Pharmacosmos for $282.33 million.

Later Stage VC

  1. 858 Therapeutics, a biotech company focused on cancer therapies, raised $50 million funding led by Avidity Partners. The funds will support clinical development of its small molecule therapeutics.
  1. VieCure, a personalized oncology platform, raised $45 million of venture funding from Northpond Ventures to scale commercial operations and meet growing demand.
  1. Convergent Therapeutics, a radiopharmaceutical company, raised $40 million venture funding from Novo Holdings to support its radiopharmaceutical pipeline.
  1. CTRL Therapeutics, an oncology biotech company, raised $9.14 million of venture funding.

Early Stage VC

  1. Aktis Oncology, a radiopharmaceutical company, raised $175 million funding led by RA Capital Management, RTW Investments, and Janus Henderson Investors. The funds will be used to advance the company’s radiopharmaceutical pipeline.
  1. VerImmune, a cancer immunotherapy developer, raised $4.5 million funding led by Bailey Biofund. The funds will be used to advance the company’s lead product candidate towards clinical trials.

Seed Round, Angel and Grant

  1. Nucs Ai, an AI-powered oncology platform, raised $3.5 million of seed funding to support its development of cancer treatment technologies.
