- Belite Bio, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical drug development company for novel therapeutics targeting untreatable eye diseases involving retinal degeneration such as atrophic age-related macular degeneration and autosomal recessive Stargardt disease or STGD1, received approximately $125 million of development capital from Soleus Capital, RA Capital Management, Eventide Asset Management, Vestal Point Capital, RTW Investments and Marshall Wace.
- SureNano Science, a nanotechnology supply company with the license to sell and otherwise commercialize the SureNanoTM surfactant (the SureNano Surfactant) in Canada and Colorado, received CAD 160,000 of development capital.

- Studymetrix Research, a clinical research service for advancing medical science through human studies, was acquired by East Coast Institute For Research, via its financial sponsor Gauge Capital, through an LBO.
- Theratechnologies, a specialty pharmaceutical company that addresses the unmet medical needs of HIV patients, was acquired by Future Pak, a subsidiary of Woodward Pharma Services, for approximately $254 million.

- Ensoma, a biotech company that develops genomic medicine in vivo approach to engineer any or all blood and immune cells to cure diseases, raised $53 million of venture funding from Gilead Sciences, Delos Capital and Cormorant Asset Management.
- Balanced Pharma, pharmaceutical drugs that enhances patient comfort and safety, raised $3.2 million of venture funding.
