- Obsidian Therapeutics, a cell and gene therapy company that uses controllable technologies to advance adoptive immunotherapy for cancer patients, received $350 million of development capital from Novo Holdings, Wellington Management, RA Capital Management and many others via private placement.
- PreveCeutical Medical, a health sciences company that advances preventive and curative therapies using organic and nature-identical products, received CAD 1 million of development capital through a private placement.
Merger/Acquisition
- Forte Biosciences, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that advances antibody therapeutics for autoimmune and autoimmune-related conditions, acquired by Argenx for $1.577 billion.
- Galera Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company that advances small-molecule therapies for reducing oxidative damage associated with cancer and radiotherapy, acquired by Obsidian Therapeutics for $350 million.
Later Stage VC
- DalCor Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical company that advances personalized treatments for cardiovascular diseases, raised $6.96 million of venture funding.
- Deepcell, a microfluidic imaging platform that uses artificial intelligence to classify and isolate cells based on morphological features, raised CNY 100 million of venture funding in a deal led by Casstar, Shun Xi Fund and Cenova Capital.
Early Stage VC
- EndPath Radiotherapeutics, a pharmaceutical company that focuses on radiopharmaceuticals for cancer diagnosis and treatment, raised venture funding from venBio.
- Expedition Therapeutics, a biotechnology company that advances therapies for serious inflammatory and respiratory diseases, raised $115 million of Series B venture funding in a deal led by General Atlantic.
Seed Round
- Platform Therapeutics, a therapeutics company that advances drug candidates to prevent treatment-related toxicities in cancer and kidney disease, raised $1.75 million of seed funding.
- ProEncia, a therapeutics company that targets the underlying causes of periodontal disease across varying levels of severity, raised pre-seed funding through a combination of debt and equity.
