- Tharimmune, a biotechnology company that develops a portfolio of therapeutic candidates for rare immune, inflammatory, and oncologic diseases, received $545 million of development capital through a private placement.
Merger/Acquisition
- 89bio, a US-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes therapies for the treatment of liver and cardiometabolic diseases, was acquired by Roche for $1.324 billion.
- Gilgamesh Pharmaceuticals, mental health science-focused biotechnology platform that develops novel compounds and treats neurological disorders, was acquired by AbbVie for $1.2 billion.
- Metsera, a clinical-stage biotechnology company that develops next-generation injectable and oral nutrient-stimulated hormone (NuSH) analog peptides to treat obesity, overweight, and related conditions, was acquired by Pfizer for $10 billion.
Later Stage VC
- Corner Therapeutics, biotechnology research services that stimulate exceptional memory T cells for lifelong immunity, raised $58.51 million of Series A venture funding.
- Iambic, artificial intelligence-driven platform that addresses the most challenging design problems in drug discovery, leveraging technology innovations, raised $99.27 million of Series B3 venture funding.
- MarvelBiome, biopharmaceutical technology company that harnesses the power of microbes for treating various human diseases, raised $39.56 million through the combination of Series C, Series C-1, and Series C-2 venture funding.
Early Stage VC
- Braveheart Bio, a cardiac myosin inhibitor that treats cardiovascular disorders, raised $185 million of Series A venture funding.
- NewLimit, precision medicines for epigenetic reprogramming to restore youthful function in aging cells, raised $130 million of Series B venture funding.
