PE Growth/Expansion

    1. AltaThera Pharmaceuticals, a specialty pharmaceuticals that serves pediatric cardiac patients and adult atrial fibrillation patients with effective treatments, received development capital.

PIPE

    1. Apollomics, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that discovers and develops oncology therapies to be combined with other treatment options to inhibit cancer, received $4.1 million of development capital from Mr. Hung-Wen Chen and Maxpro Investment through a private placement.
    2. LSL Pharma Group, an integrated pharmaceutical company of high-quality natural health products and dietary supplements in solid dosage forms as well as high quality sterile ophthalmic pharmaceutical products, received CAD 2.28 million of development capital from Mr. Francois Roberage and Mr. Mario Paradis, through a private placement.

Merger/Acquisition and Corporate

    1. Durect, biopharmaceutical company that researches, develops, and manufactures pharmaceutical products, was acquired by Bausch Health Companies for $56.072 million.
    2. eXIthera Pharmaceuticals, novel, potent, and selective small molecule inhibitors that prevents thrombosis with limited risk for bleeding side effects and without the need for a reversal agent, was acquired by Cadrenal Therapeutics.

Later Stage VC

    1. Nacuity Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company that offers treatments for retinitis pigmentosa and other ophthalmological disorders, raised $4.5 million of venture funding in a deal led by Retinal Degeneration Fund and Foundation Fighting Blindness-National Neurovision Research Institute.
    2. Dewpoint Therapeutics, an AI-powered healthcare technology platform that identifies novel drugs across a wide spectrum of diseases, raised an undisclosed amount of Series D venture funding.

Early Stage VC 

    1. Andira, a biopharmaceutical company that commercializes breakthrough advancements for infection control and other unmet needs healthcare indications, raised $809,922 of venture funding from undisclosed investors.

Angel, Seed, and Grant

    1.  Reflector Bio, an AI-driven drug discovery platform that improves the accuracy of phenotypic and biology-aware predictions, joined MassBio – Massachusetts Biotechnology Council as a part of its Drive Accelerator Cohort.
    2. Sunflower Therapeutics, a biotechnology company that simplifies and decentralizes the production of therapeutic proteins, received $300,000 of grant funding from the National Institute Of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
