Top Aerospace Capital Raises in the U.S. – May 16th to 31st, 2025

Merger/Acquisition

  1. Industrial Solid Propulsion, solid propulsion cartridges and systems intended to support aerospace and defense missions, was acquired by Karman Space & Defense for $60 million on May 28, 2025.
  2. Maxcraft Avionics, professional avionic engineering and repair services catering to the private and commercial aircraft industry, was acquired by Maverick Aviation Group on May 19, 2025.
  3. Royal Aircraft Services, aircraft maintenance and repair services intended to serve the general aviation, commercial and military customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic United States, was acquired by Mountain Air Cargo, a subsidiary of Air T on May 21, 2025.

Later Stage VC

  1. Firefly Aerospace, launch vehicles, lunar landers, and orbital vehicles designed to provide affordable space access, raised $50 million of Series D-3 venture funding from Northrop Grumman on May 29, 2025, putting the company’s pre-money valuation at $2.9 billion.
  2. World View, stratospheric exploration and flight, on-demand and high-resolution sensing, raised $2.57 billion of venture funding from investors on May 22, 2025.

Early Stage VC

  1. Oligo, automated spacecraft design and production toolchain designed for space mission development, raised venture funding from Kakao Ventures on May 29, 2025.
  2. Thor Dynamics, directed energy systems designed for drone and swarm defense to protect critical infrastructure and national security, raised $7.80 million of venture funding in a deal led by Lifeline Ventures and Scout Ventures on May 19, 2025.

Angel (individual)

  1. Invercon, pneumatic actuation systems intended for aircraft performance enhancement and safety, raised $50,000 of angel funding from investors on May 27, 2025.
